Advancements in structural engineering for design of

ductility into the structural elements in order to make them earthquake
resistant. For an Earthquake proof structure much stiffer members would be
required to keep the structure in the elastic range. This thought process has

Trying to control the earthquake shaking is
inconceivable, but the seismic load on a structure can be limited using the Base

the seismic demand on a structure instead of increasing its capacity, with our

the ground, the effect of ground shaking on the structure will be minimal to
none.
