PLATFORM VIBRATION ISOLAOR
PLATFORM ISOLATORS are
extremely useful type of flexible
support designed primarily for light
loads for excellent isolation of steady
state Vibrations plus occasional
Shocks while providing moderate
lateral restraint. Mountings are
approximately twice as stiff radially as
axially, offering excellent stability.
The contour of the flexing element is
designed to provide uniform stress
distribution.
Elastomer is specially compounded to
meet wide range of environment
conditions. Isolators have a very high
ratio of bond strength to working stress.
DESIGN FEATURES
Mounting consists of a rectangular
metal plate for the outer member which
is embedded in and bonded to the
rubber at right angles to the tubular
centre metal member so that the
supported device may be bolted
through it.
The outer square plate may be
attached to the supporting structure
with rivets or screws or even by
clamping. Snubbing washers are
recommended as they will form an
interlocking system of metal parts,
which will limit and cushion excessive
movement from overload or shock,
resulting in positive safety.
